Project Rosebud is a favorite Thomasville Junior Service League (JSL) tradition. This event is planned annually by the JSL Provisional class and is an outreach to eighth-grade girls who have been nominated by local school guidance counselors. The JSL Provisional class plans a day full of fun and friendship that includes makeovers, shopping trips, a special lunch, and a motivational speaker to help inspire the next generation as well as help them “blossom” into beautiful, radiant young ladies. This year we held Project Rosebud on October 28th. We had six "rosebud" girls in attendance. We took the rosebuds to Belk where they shopped for a variety of clothing items for themselves with the help of our JSL Provisionals. They then went to The Plaza restaurant and enjoyed lunch and inspirational speeches from Kenya Carter and Erin Smeltzer. Goody bags donated by DDP Monograms & Gifts and Papillon Salon & Spa were filled with items donated by Southern Elegance & Charm Boutique along with LuLaRoe leggings from Stephanie Wilson. The goody bags were given to each rosebud as gifts. The Rose Court also attended the event. Thank you to the support of local businesses who helped make this event a success!
