The Thomasville Junior Service League (JSL) is a nonprofit organization that helps better the lives of Thomasville and Thomas County youth and children. Last year, JSL donated more than $28,000 to different children’s organizations in the area. JSL members know how important education is to children and take pride in being able to help local children multiple times throughout the year. JSL has a tradition in providing a high school senior a $1,000 textbook scholarship to a student who exhibits the characteristics promoted by the mission of JSL. The mission of JSL is, “to promote volunteerism and improve our community and the lives of children in our area.” Students who apply for the scholarship must be accepted in an accredited undergraduate degree program either at a university or technical college. They must also complete an application and list previous volunteer hours and future plans. The scholarship is partially funded by the annual Bargain Bazaar, which takes place at the beginning of the year. Students interested in applying for the scholarship should contact the guidance counselors at their respective schools or print the application attached below. JSL will advertise about scholarship opportunities at the appropriate time to start receiving applications for this great scholarship.
